minding the idleness.

shopped the library today, supposedly an Alexie book was on hold for me, but it wasn't there, while sean picked up a couple of holds. the branch (as i think i mentioned) is small, and therefore limited. so home to put in requests..browsing on-line vs browsing shelves: there are differences. i should quit procrastinating on Nietzsche, cause i'm sure i will like him.

meanwhile, nate and i, and sean cruised around Hobby Lobby the other day (i have soooo missed that store) and picked up some craft stuff that would get Nate going.. we made a list, or, rather, nate did which meant it was fairly illegible. we had found the idea to do button bracelets, and i have lots of fun buttons, so we picked up a string and crimps. oh, and in the same mag was stamp art, making collage art from old stamps and you can buy bags of used u.s. stamps, or international; so i picked up some international (we'll see how that goes).

probably should finish nate's fairy-doll first: a smaller rag version to accompany her mermaid doll. waiting for a place to put my machine first (so i can use it instead of borrow). and i thought maybe i should put some design into it, but natalya argues a rough draft is good. she really is an impatient one: which should make her chess lessons all the more entertaining.

then there is a 'project' for sean and i, inspired by soap boxes, fed-upedness, and an excerpt from L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. i think it will be great, but i have not ability to carry it off without sean's help (and expertise) soooo... eventually.

so, the downstairs (our apartment-ish) is still waiting to be finished, after that flooding incident. can't set up an office 'nook' in the meantime, which has allowed for a great deal of procrastination despite the mobility of the laptop. finally, last night, we broke down and set up the office table/desk behind the couch. and nicely, we were able to move things and clear the area around the pool table (adjacent to the "living room"). will have to take pictures when most everything finds its place.

so, i guess, there is a bit of life: however fractional. you know, blogs are fairly public (an understatment, i realize) so take what you will from the somewhat shallow refractions. because, well sometimes, you just can't say everything you want to say--something i debate never telling my daughter...yet we are social creatures, aren't we? especially if we do not have that mysterious disposable income, or the wilderness skills to disappear, or the antebellum attic to inhabit.
